Direct Support Professional (DSP)
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Direct Support Professional to provide services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Job Overview:
Responsible for the planning and implementation of daily activities for Adult Day Program participants with primary focus on keeping them engaged with each other and in a variety of activities.
Provide supervision and assistance with personal care (sometimes including toileting and feeding) to participants.
Provide emotional support for participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement engaging activities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Provide personal care assistance, including toileting and feeding, when necessary.
Offer emotional support to participants.
Maintain required documentation and oversee program activities.
Coordinate services to teach life skills, increase social interactions, and promote community integration.
Communicate effectively with support staff and maintain a secure, clean environment.
Report incidents and concerns to supervisors, ensuring participant safety and security.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or human services preferred).
Valid Georgia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to complete a background check.
Physical and sensory qualifications:
Ability to read, speak English, and perform basic math.
Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and perform CPR/First Aid if necessary.
Visual abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Office Location: 5050 Research Court #650, Suwanee, GA 30024
Work Hours: 6 hours each weekday (8:30am-2:30pm) onsite, excluding holidays.
